Hummus is so good! Contains chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice and garlic. It makes a great dip! It’s healthy too. Plus it is adored at any time of day! These are some of the best foods to dip in hummus:

Fresh Vegetables

Fresh Vegetables

Veggies are made for it. They’re crunchy and fresh. With that creamy dip, they’re delicious! Here are a few good to try:

  • carrot sticks
  • cucumber slices
  • bell pepper strips
  • celery sticks
  • cherry tomatoes
  • radishes
  • broccoli florets
  • cauliflower florets
  • snap pea pods

Pita Bread

Hummus and pita bread? They simply go hand in hand. I hope you’re getting the idea now. Cut wedges or snack on pita chips. Also whole wheat pita does check out. And some folks like to toast theirs first. Totally up to you!

Crackers

Wrapping crackers is another great option for dipping hummus. There are many varieties to choose from:

  • whole grain
  • multigrain
  • seed
  • rice
  • gluten-free

Either flavored or plain are available. Quick tip though. Choose low-sodium varieties.

Tortilla Chips

Tortilla Chips

Hummus is also a great dip in which to put tortilla chips! They are delicious, plain or flavored. Go for baked chips instead of fried ones for a healthy option.

Bread

Bread is another delicious combination with it. Some of the best types are:

  • toasted sourdough
  • baguette
  • whole grain
  • ciabatta
  • flatbread

You can use it for sandwiches too! So good!

Pretzels

Adding pretzels adds that good salty crunch. Mini pretzels, sticks or bites are available. They are all excellent to put with hummus.

Fresh Fruits

Certain fruits taste great when dipped in it. The sweetness is a good combination with the savory dip. Try these:

  • apple slices
  • pear slices
  • grapes
  • strawberries

Protein Foods

Want to add some protein to your snack? These make great pairings with hummus:

  • grilled chicken strips
  • turkey slices
  • hard-boiled eggs
  • cooked shrimp

A variety of creative foods to dip

Here is a list of some fun ideas:

  • roasted potatoes
  • sweet potato fries
  • zucchini fries
  • falafel
  • stuffed grape leaves
  • roasted mushrooms

Make a Hummus Board in 20 minutes

It is very easy to make a hummus board. Use fresh vegetables, pita bread and crackers. Top with cheese chunks, olives, grapes, nuts and pickles. Seems elegant but it only takes a few minutes. Ideal for parties or with friends!

Hummus pairs well with a variety of foods. Anything that is fresh is good. Combine them to make a great snack board. And, here’s the thing. This is a much healthier dip than most. Contains protein, fiber and healthy fats. Win-win!
