Louis Vuitton’s Finest: Top 5 Pre-Owned Bags to Buy

Choosing one style from Louis Vuitton’s collection of luxury handbags to satisfy a fashion craving is a tall order for most people. The reason for this is not so much about scarcity as that they’re equally hard to turn down.

Throughout the years, bag trends have come and gone, but LV designs have held their ground and remained a staple in every fashion lover’s closet. From the Louis Vuitton Keepall to the legendary Speedy, every piece showcases impeccable durability and craftsmanship as well as timelessly versatile silhouettes.

If you’re looking to invest in a pre-owned LV bag, here are five elegant choices to add to your wardrobe:

1. The Alma

The LV Alma’s 120-year journey from a functional piece of luggage to an everyday essential is a testament to its appeal

It was named after the Place de l’Alma in Paris and was first introduced in LV’s iconic monogram canvas. It’s defined by a domed structure, rolled riveted double handles, a sturdy base and a spacious interior that can hold all your daily essentials.

Its sizes start from Nano Alma and go all the way up to Alma GM (grande modele), never compromising on quality, style or practicality.

2. The Pochette Accessories

The Pochette Accessoires bag was designed in the early 1990s to hit that elusive spot between pouch and purse. Despite its compact size, it can accommodate a wallet, phone, keys and all the essentials you need for a night out on the town.

The mini bag is made from coated canvas, a durable and lightweight material synonymous with the brand. It also comes in Epi and patent leather options.

The Pochette Accessoires has a monogrammed exterior and interior. It’s available in different colors, including the classic brown as well as Damier Azur and Damier Ebene prints.

3. The Speedy

In 1930, this LV house classic was introduced in a 30 cm size and was initially named the “Express” as a tribute to the brand’s origins in luggage. The Speedy’s rise to fame started in the 60s when actress Audrey Hepburn asked the fashion house for a smaller version of the bag to go with her petite frame. From then on, the 25 cm Speedy became one of LV’s most popular models.

The Speedy’s compact and lightweight design makes it convenient for travel. While the singular silhouette, signature engraved padlock and rolled leather handles are distinctive features of this bag, one of its even more unique characteristics is the use of a single continuous piece of monogram canvas. As a result, one side of the bag has an upside-down monogram, often misinterpreted by many as a sign of being a fake.

Like most LV bags, The Speedy made its first debut in the house’s traditional canvas; but today, it’s also available in Damier Azur and Damier Ebene prints, as well as Epi and Empreinte leather. Additionally, LV has created various limited edition designs of this iconic bag over the years and sizes ranging from 25 cm to a roomier 40.

4. The Neverfull

Designed to hold up to 200 pounds of weight, the LV Neverfull has, time and again, proven that it is one of the toughest tote bags on the market since it was first introduced in 2007.

It’s entirely reversible and features a flexible seam structure, which allows it to be flipped inside out for a new style. Initially, it only came in two interior color options: cerise (cherry) and beige, but as the Neverfull made its way into the hearts of fashion enthusiasts, LV started including more color options like rose ballerine, fuschia, piment and mimosa.

LV also upgraded this signature tote to include a detachable accessories pouch that can be used for additional storage or as its own pochette. The Neverfull has only ever been available in three sizes: PM (petite modele), MM (medium modele) and GM.

5. The Keepall

Gaston-Louis Vuitton, the grandson of Louis Vuitton, brought the Keepall to life in 1930 as a sporty and modern take on the traditional weekend bag. Its design includes a roomy interior, two single handles on top, an adjustable strap and a removable leather name tag. It also features a double-zipped closure with a padlock to secure your belongings.

Being a unisex bag, the Keepall became an instant hit with both men and women and was often spotted on the arms of celebrities and A-listers like Kim Kardashian, Bradley Cooper and Justin Timberlake at airports worldwide.

It’s available in four sizes: 45, 50, 55 and the biggest 60, named after their lengths in centimeters. The Keepall is the ideal travel companion for a long trip or weekend getaway. Just be sure to check airline size restrictions, as the 60 may be too large to carry onboard.

Shop for Your Favorite Pre-Owned LV Bags

Vintage luxury never goes out of style, and LV’s handbag collection is proof of that.

So, go ahead and buy the pre-loved LV bag of your dreams and elevate your style with timeless elegance and sophistication.
