Key Difference Between Local SEO  and Enterprise SEO

Search engine optimisation is the basis for building your website’s authority and online  presence. However, there are different strategies and approaches for SEO based on your  business size and market reach. Enterprise SEO and local SEO are two methods that can  boost website ranking. Understanding the differences between these two can help  businesses to make informed decisions and improve their brand value.

The following are some common differences between enterprise SEO and local SEO:

Definition

Enterprise SEO works well for large-scale organisations offering multiple products. Websites  with over 1000+ pages follow this approach as it is usually on the extensive side. A high  level of SEO expertise is required to get results from this method. Specialised individuals  handle niche requirements within subparts of this SEO strategy.

Local SEO is best for companies looking to capture a local audience. It is best for brands  that want to beat local competitors. The strategies used in this method help in ranking your  business among the local audience. For example, a solar battery business in Africa can  benefit from SEO Cape Town to sell products to a local audience.

Location

Enterprise SEO is a wider approach and does not confine itself to a single location. The aim  is to reach a wider audience and build an authoritative brand presence. This also includes a  mix of paid and non-paid strategies for organic and targeted growth. On the other hand, local  SEO has a geographical limit because of the brick-and-mortar location. Local SEO strategies  can change depending on the nature of the business and the number of mobile users.

Strategy

Enterprise SEO strategies include strategies to dominate a market or topic. This includes  content production, high-authority link building, guest posting, and valuable information.  High-quality, engaging content is the key focus in this strategy. However, local SEO is more  dynamic in terms of profile creation. The main objective is to outsmart immediate  competitors by building a reputation and ranking on local listings.

SERP

Enterprise SEO helps in ranking a business by ensuring visibility in every stage of the  customer life cycle. SEO experts ensure brand awareness by overcoming algorithm changes  during optimisation. This helps in ranking in a top position on SERP results. Local SEO helps  in location-based searching and uses Google My Business and positive reviews. This gains  customer trust and helps in ranking on SERP results.

Budget

Enterprise SEO is used by large organisations for market capture and international reach.  This is why the campaigns require more budget and ad spend, as many specialists are  involved. However, local focus on lead generation and organic marketing strategies like user  intent and a friendly UI. Local SEO can offer tangible results with a limited budget for small scale companies.

Tools

Enterprise SEO uses tools like Google Webmaster Tools, SEO Clarity, Linkdex, and more.  These help in assessing and tracking the SEO progress. On the other hand, local SEO uses  Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Moz Local, and BuzzStream.

Wrapping Up

The above differences clarify that local SEO and enterprise SEO are not interdependent.  Each is unique and offers specific benefits to various businesses. Small-scale enterprises  with limited budgets can consider local SEO, while established organisations should focus  on enterprise SEO.
