You’ve heard your mum telling you to brush your teeth and gargle since you were a kid—and there’s a good reason. Although you usually roll your eyes at the thought, good dental health is one of the most important investments you can make for yourself and your future.

Pneumonia is another chronic condition that occurs when germs from the mouth go into the lungs. And while this is treatable, it could trigger other respiratory diseases that may affect your quality of life.

We live in a time where there’s a lot of judgement everywhere. People can nitpick on every detail of your body—from your hair to your smile. So, having bad breath or damage to your teeth can affect your self-confidence. It can also lead to anxiety, stress, and even depression, especially when so many people are judging you.

This is why investing in good oral health is necessary to improve one’s appearance and build self-confidence.

We all want to belong to the community, and good human relationships can improve our lives. But if you feel less confident because you don’t have a great smile or have bad breath, you also hinder yourself from opportunities to meet new people, build relationships, and even land good jobs.
