Nowadays, it’s hard to keep up with the latest tech trends because “the next big thing” always seems to come up quite often. At this point, we might just need a break. No sooner had we wrapped our heads around the Metaverse than NFTs came along, and now, AI is all people are talking about.

So, let’s pause for a minute, and take it back to the Metaverse. To some, the Metaverse is the future of online interactions, and to others, it is an over-ambitious project that may take forever to actualize. Mark Zuckerberg even changed his company’s name from ‘Facebook’ to ‘Meta’ because of the potential he saw in the Metaverse.

For those who have no clue what the Metaverse is all about, here’s a simple description. It’s a virtual world where people can connect and have different experiences based on virtual reality and augmented reality. Think of it as a digital version of the physical world we live in.

Top companies such as Meta, Microsoft, Google, and Apple have embraced the technology and made it work for their brands. A good example is how Mark Zuckerberg gave Lex Fridman the first-ever Metaverse interview with hyper-realistic avatars, or Apple’s latest mixed-reality headset, the Apple Vision Pro.

Many industries are jumping on the Metaverse bandwagon and online gaming isn’t left behind. Besides Fortnite being one of the front-runners in virtual worlds, online casinos are also making headway in the niche. Decentral Games has truly changed the game with its immersive virtual casino.

Enter Decentral Games, The First Metaverse Casino

During the tragic covid-19 pandemic, many restrictions had to be put in place which limited people’s movement and operations of certain businesses. Land-based casinos were greatly affected and online casinos became popular during that period.

However, as much as online casinos offered players the chance to enjoy casino games from home, the experience wasn’t that authentic. A problem which Decentral Games had a solution for—a Metaverse casino.

Decentral Games launched ICE Poker casino in Decentraland, which is a virtual world built and owned by its community. The casino was so popular that it earned $7.5 million in three months and accounted for a third of the daily users in Decentraland.

How does the Metaverse casino work? Unlike regular casinos where one has to create an account and sign up, the virtual casino requires one to create an avatar and profile. You’ll choose how you want to look, what you want to wear, and your username.

Once your avatar is complete, you can jump into any of the casinos they have and start playing. New players are eligible for a 100% welcome bonus up to a certain amount and recurring players enjoy bonuses like referral rewards and cashback offers.

With your avatar, you can move around the virtual casino and play the various games available, such as blackjack, roulette, and poker. The tables will have virtual dealers and around you there will be other avatars for players just like you. You can chat and interact with other players more authentically.

When it comes to the casino’s currency, you can play for real money using crypto. ETH, USDT, and ICE are the currencies you’ll use to place wagers for the different games. However, the casino has its native token, the $DG, which players can earn through gameplay, mining, and governance incentives. There’s a ‘play for free’ option for players who want to see what the platform is all about.

Security is a big concern when it comes to online gaming, so you might ask yourself, are DG Games safe? On its website, Decentral Games mentions that its RNG was audited and certified by a Malta-approved auditor so all its games are secure and fair.

Should You Give DG Casino A Try?

DG Casino is a community-owned platform with over 8,000 members, so you won’t be alone for starters. Secondly, the casino truly offers something different, something we aren’t used to, but exciting nonetheless. If you’ve played games on a console or PC before, you’ll get that ‘player one’ experience but even better, because it will be with your self-created avatar.

The concept is still in its beta stages so it might take some time until it is 100% perfect, but you’ll definitely enjoy what you find. The first impression you’ll get is that you’ve never played anything like this before.
