Pennsylvania is a diverse and beautiful state that offers a wide range of attractions for tourists. From visiting historical sites to exploring natural wonders, here are seven of the best things to do in Pennsylvania.

  1. Visit Pennsylvania’s largest casino

Parx Casino in Bensalem is Pennsylvania’s largest casino. It has a massive gaming floor with thousands of slot machines, electronic table games, and traditional table games such as blackjack, poker, roulette, and craps.

The Xcite Center hosts concerts, comedy shows, and other live performances. You can also choose from a variety of cuisines and enjoy a meal before or after gaming or taking in a show. The casino has bars and lounges where you can unwind and enjoy cocktails.

Parx also has a PA online casino, and you can enjoy playing casino games on vacation without having to go to the brick-and-mortar casino.

  1. Explore historic sites in Philadelphia

Philadelphia is rich in history, and you can visit Independence Hall and take a guided tour of the room where the Declaration of Independence and United States Constitution were signed. Next to it is the Liberty Bell, a famous symbol of freedom. In the Old City, take a walk through Elfreth’s Alley, the oldest residential street in the country. The Philadelphia Museum of Art is a cultural destination you can’t afford to miss. Going up the famous “Rocky” steps leading up to the museum gives you a chance to re-enact the moment from the movie.

  1. Discover the cultural scene in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh has a thriving cultural scene. Pay a visit to the Andy Warhol Museum and the Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History. Enjoy the vibrant street art in the Strip District and explore unique little shops. Riding the Duquesne Include will give you panoramic views of the city’s iconic bridges and the skyline.

  1. Visit Amish county

Lancaster County is home to an extensive Amish community. Taking a guided tour will allow you to see horse-drawn buggies, visit Amish farms, and learn more about the traditional way of life of the Amish. The small, rural towns are charming, and you can try out Amish cuisine at some of the local restaurants.

  1. Take a scenic train ride

The Strasburg Railroad is the oldest operating railroad in America. A ride on this vintage steam train will take you through the Amish countryside. It offers themed excursions, and you can take a Christmas train ride during the holiday season. It may be interesting to pay a visit to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania to find out more about the old railroads.

  1. Enjoy the Pocono Mountains

The Pocono region is like a paradise for nature lovers with its lakes, waterfalls, and lush forests. In the winter, you can enjoy skiing and a variety of other winter sports. The famous Appalachian Trail passes through the Poconos, and there are many hiking trails in the region. For those who want to experience a variety of outdoor activities, this is the perfect place. Those doing adventurous outdoor activities should include travel insurance research in their planning.

  1. Visit Hershey’s Chocolate World

If your budget for a vacation is limited, a visit to Hershey’s Chocolate World is a great option. The factory ride-in tour is free, and you can go as many times as you want. It will help you to understand how chocolate is made. Smell the delicious chocolate and see thousands of candies on conveyor belts. You can have a photo taken to preserve the memory. You also get to sample some free chocolate at the end. Various events are held during the holiday season.
