Do Hair Growth Supplements Work?

In theory, you can mitigate this damage by maintaining enough antioxidant levels, such as vitamins E and C. However, more research is needed to discover whether vitamin E or C supplements can promote growth or reverse hair loss.

Biotin (Vitamin B7)

Biotin is one of the best-known vitamins for hair health. This vitamin promotes the formation of keratin, the major protein found in hair, skin, and nails. Adequate biotin levels can prevent breakage.

However, research only recommends biotin supplements when there is a known deficiency.

Iron

Vitamins C and E are needed for keratinization. Keratinization is the process of filling hair cells with keratin, a robust and protective protein. Certain nutrients, such as vitamins E and C, are required to assist this process. Keratinization creates a barrier that protects your locks from the elements, strengthening them, preventing dry, brittle hair, and minimizing hair loss. However, further research is needed to verify that supplementing with these vitamins benefits your locks.
