A beautiful smile does more than improve your looks: It also makes you feel more comfortable in your skin and boosts your confidence. While many people think that getting a smile makeover is a difficult process, the advancements in dental treatments make it a pretty easy and comfortable journey.

If you want to achieve the smile of your dreams, here’s a quick guide to treatments that can deliver the smile makeover you deserve.

Braces

Braces are one of the most popular dental treatments to fix the appearance of misaligned or crooked teeth. Braces are typically available in the form of metal wires, which are attached to your teeth to keep them in a specific position. Over time, this helps you guide your teeth into an aligned and stunning smile. Depending on the appearance of your teeth, your braces may take 1-3 years to deliver ideal results. During this period, you can use different tips to streamline dental visits.

Clear Aligners

In some cases, you may not have to wear braces to improve your smile. Instead, clear aligners could fix any misalignment issues to give your pearly whites a smile makeover. After taking a digital impression of your teeth with an intraoral scanner, your dentist designs custom aligners that you may need to wear 20-22 hours a day for typically 6 months to 2 years. This is a good option if you want something more visually discreet than braces and do not need the intensive treatment from braces to improve your smile.

Retainers

Once you enhance your smile with braces or aligners, you may need to wear retainers when you go to bed. This ensures that your teeth do not move out of their new position again and you can maintain your new smile for as long as possible. Similar to braces and clear aligners, retainers are also custom-made for your teeth. But they need to be worn every single night. If you are used to a routine like using a sleep help app, you may have no trouble adopting this practice.

Dental Implants

If you lose your teeth due to damage or disease, you may get them replaced with dental implants. These implants fix into your gum bone, where a dental crown is attached on top to give off the appearance of a natural smile. While dental implants can be an expensive treatment, you may learn how to reduce your dental expenses by looking into a few strategies. With dental implants, you can enjoy the appearance of a picture-perfect smile well into your golden years.

Veneers

In case you don’t want to go through the process of wearing braces or simply want to improve your smile dramatically, you may like dental veneers. These are artificial tooth-like coatings that go on top of your natural teeth to significantly improve your smile. You may need to replace your veneers every 10-15 years. Since veneers can also be an expensive treatment that is typically not covered by insurance, you may need to save up some funds using a budgeting app.

Crowns

Sometimes, you may not need a total smile makeover to get your dream smile. If only a couple of your teeth look damaged or decayed, you may turn to dental crowns to improve their appearance. These dental crowns emulate the look of tooth enamel and go on top of your natural teeth or molars. This not only helps you enhance your smile, but also protects you from infections and loss of teeth. This makes dental crowns a pretty popular dental treatment.

Dental Bonding

If you understand the importance of regular dental visits and keep up with them, you may be able to spot issues like chipped teeth before they get out of hand and require you to replace your teeth. With dental bonding, your dentist can cover any damaged parts of your natural teeth to make them look more structured and more appealing. You can also get this treatment to replace the missing part of a tooth after sustaining damage. This helps you quickly fix your smile.

Dental Scaling

If your teeth are affected by plaque, you can turn to dental scaling. This is a deep cleaning procedure where your dentist uses special tools to disintegrate and remove plaque from your teeth to improve your smile. This treatment also protects your gums from conditions like periodontal disease. Dental scaling is sometimes combined with teeth whitening for a more enhanced smile. You can also use a reminder app to visit the dentist at least twice a year for teeth cleaning treatments.

By learning about these practices, you can determine how to attain a dazzling smile. This can work wonders for your self-image and let you take on every challenge with the utmost confidence.
