Despite the fact that we all should know by now the dangers of smoking cigarettes, there are still 1.3 billion people in this world who are addicted to nicotine, and continue to poison their bodies with the harmful chemicals that are found in cigarettes.

It is time once again to remind everyone of the dangers of these cigarettes, and why they should really be banned completely from existence.

Massive health implications

It has been proven beyond doubt that smoking is the leading cause of many preventable diseases which, when persisting in the habit, can lead to premature death. This includes heart disease, stroke, cancer, lung disease and other respiratory conditions.

Stopping smoking with immediate effect can help halt this decline in health, and if you are young enough, any damage can be repaired and reversed.

And it is not even your own life that you are going to be saving – but that of those who surround you as well. The damage inflicted on your loved ones by second hand smoke, and the sheer unpleasantness of living with someone who smokes, must also be taken into account. According to the WHO World Health Organisation, around 1.3 million people die every year from second hand smoke. Giving up cigarettes will not only save your own life – it could also save your children’s too.

Improving your social standing

It’s safe to say that these days smoking is socially unacceptable. Most countries around the globe have imposed a total ban on all inside smoking – including bars and restaurants. 30 years ago, if you walked into a London pub, you would barely be able to see the bar for the thick smoke. Today, the interiors of all hospitality venues are smoke free. Walk outside though, and you will be able to take in the pungent fruity smells of those who have ditched the tobacco cigarettes for vapes topped up with eliquids  such as Jak’d which satisfy any nicotine cravings without the rough chemical, tobacco tastes.

While one habit may have been swapped for another, at least the second hand vapour is less damaging to others, and to the individual who is still indulging in a psychological habit.

Improving your quality of life

Are you waking up every morning with a deep, painful cough? Do you struggle finding your breath when walking down the street, or going up the stairs? Do you find that your home feels grubby, your clothes are smelly, your skin looks pasty? Do you feel like a social pariah when out and about, having to pop out every 20 minutes to frantically puff on your cigarette with all the other dodgy people.

How would stopping smoking improve your life. Well let’s highlight some of the key improvements you will feel within the first few weeks.

  • Your breathing will get easier, you’ll feel like a weight has been lifted from your chest.
  • You’ll have more money in your pocket. The amount of money a packet of cigarettes costs these days is more than enough to put even the wealthiest of people off smoking!
  • You’ll be able to smell and taste all the delicious foods again. Smoking completely deadens the senses, but it won’t take long to get them back!
  • Smoking can lead to premature aging, wrinkles and a dull complexion. Within days of not smoking, you’ll start to see and experience improvements. Make sure you give the rejuvenation process a helping hand by drinking plenty of water!

We are conditioned to believe that quitting smoking is challenging and difficult. Make it easier on yourself – change your mindset and simply see it as a few days of discomfort before you start to really experience the very many benefits of stopping. You’ll be doing yourself (and your health and wealth) a huge favour!
